Vessels

Vessels was written for Anne Lanzilotti and Miki-Sophia Cloud. With this piece, I wanted to create an outer layer of sound that could house and carry something vital and fragile inside it. This outer layer is composed of upper harmonics and unadorned lower open strings, both flickering in and out of audibility. These sounds should protect and encase music of the middle register, which is clear-sounding but fleeting.
