I conduct the Red Light Ensemble in their premiere of a new collaborative score, played live to accompany Fritz Lang's classic silent film, Metropolis. The live score is composed by Christopher Cerrone, Adrian Knight, Kyle Hillbrand, Bob Pierzak, Vincent Raikhel, Liam Robinson, and Scott Wollschleger.

The Peninsula Women's Chorus, under the direction of Martin Benvenuto, premieres a new work of mine, set to a chunk of text from military cables exposed via Wikileaks as part of the Iraq War Logs. The program also includes works by Vincent Persichetti and Kirstina Rasmussen.

I'm joined by an all-star ensemble from the improvisational and experimental scene, for the premiere of an opera by James Ilgenfritz, based on the dystopian novel of William Burrough's The Ticket That Exploded. James is a brilliant bass player and composer and the most recent addition to my group Delusion Story. Honored to be in the company of Mellissa Hughes, Nick Hallett and Anne Rhode, I am one of four vocalists on this project which promises to be exciting, mind-bending and poignant.

Ensemble Klang gives the American premiere of my piece "Cutest Little Arbitrage," which was commissioned for them by Gaudeamus Muziekweek. I had a great time working with this Holand-based ensemble comprised of musicians who met at Conservatory The Hague nearly ten years ago. They are in the States for a bit of a tour, and this will be a high-energy show for sure.

DZ4, an engaging and experimental new woodwind quartet (no flute!), plays a short little tune I've contributed to their ambitious project The Well-Tempered DZ4. As you may have guessed, they are playing a piece in every "key." (I chose g# minor). Brad Balliett, Alicia Lee, Alma Leibrecht and Arthur Sato play works by too many composers to list (but including some favorites like Ken Tomson, Eric Wubbels and the ever-friendly Glenn Cornett).

I conduct Red Light New Music's season opener, featuring John Luther Adams' The Light Within, Chaya Czernowin's Lovesong, and the world premiere of Christopher Cerrone's Wall Music, and Vincent Raikhel's cryovolcano (featuring the remarkably refined playing of cellist John Popham).

I'm honored to be a guest artist at the 2011 Gaudeamus Festival. On Friday Septmber 9, the quartet Sonnenborg (electric guitar, accordion, piano and percussion) will perform my piece Ghostspace (incidentally composed for that peculiar group of instruments). On Sunday Septmber 11, the provocative Ensemble Klang will premiere Cutest Little Arbitrage, a new work of mine commissioned by the Festival.
