Seven Small Love Songs

Seven Small Love Songs is an eight-minute work composed for the Bang on a Can Summer Institute, and premiered there in July 2004. Of the seven miniature movements, six are set to the text of anonymous classifieds from the "Personals" sections of The Reader.

2 percussion (vibes, marimba)
string quartet
Seven Small Love Songs was premiered in July 2004 by Daisy Press, soprano, Stan Rothrock, conductor, and an ensemble from the Bang on a Can Summer Institute at Mass MoCA. It was also performed in December 2004 by Julieanne Klein and Ensemble Prima (Montreal), Melanie Leonard, conductor.
