new piece MY CATALONIA, performed by Newspeak Ensemble, as part of
their concert "Music By, For and Against Frederick Rzewski." This show
will take place at the Brooklyn

5.2.08: New York, NY. My friend Jody Redhage will perform WARNING SONG at the Greenwich House (46 Barrow Street) as part of a concert on the Composers' Concordance series, at 8pm.
4.27.08: New Haven, CT. VESSELS will
be performed at
Anne Lanzilotti's recital at Sprague Hall, at 5pm. She is also
performing da Falla, Franck, Hindemith's thorniest solo viola sonata
and the Mozart Kegelstatt trio.
4.23.08: New Haven, CT. Premiere of
VESSELS, my new trio for viola, violin and piano, at
Sprague Hall. It will be performed by Anne Lanzilotti, Miki
Sophia-Cloud and Jessica Osbourne, and I'm very much looking forward to
it.
4.19.08: New York, NY. I will be conducting the premiere of Scott Wollschleger's NOVELLA NO. 2 as part of a concert by Red Light New Music at the Hungarian Cultural Forum - 447 Broadway (at Grand Street).This will be a great concert, also including music by Vincent Raikhel, Liam Robinson, Christopher Cerrone and the premiere of Evan Johnson's Auschnitte.

4.2.08: New Haven, CT. I will be
conducting Chris Cerrone's READING A WAVE, and singing in the premiere
of Bryan Senti's IN THE ALTAR OF MEMORY, SLOWLY UNDRESSING, at New
Music New Haven, at Sprague Hall.
3.16.08: New York, NY. I premiered
the role of Justin in Jacob Cooper's visionary new opera TIMBERBRIT, at
The Tank.

2.10.07: New York, NY. I'm
conducting the latest concert with Red Light New Music at the
Italian Academy at Columbia University. Includes music of Tiziano
Manca, Salvatore Sciarrino, Luciano Berio and the premiere of READING A
WAVE by Christopher Cerrone.
2.1.08: New York, NY. The Choir of
St. Mary the Virgin (Robert McCormick, director) premieres my new MASS.

1.13.08: Chicago, IL. Yes is a World
presents the premiere of BODY SOLDIERS, a performance I put together
with Mollie Stone, exploring the ways that South Africans are using
choral music in the struggle against HIV-AIDS. This performance also
includes some my own new music, as well as music by hiphop artist SKIM,
and some very poweful footage by Anthony Morrison and Charlotte Royer. more info

8.11.07: New Haven, CT. My new vocal
trio I REMEMBER
is performed at Sprague Hall by Ruth Cunningham, Elizabeth Baber and
Mellissa Hughes, along with the premiere of my new song I CARRY YOUR
HEART, by Sylvia Rider, Trevor Gureckis and Chris Cerrone.
8.5.07: New York, NY. Some of my
music opens a show for Ben Cassorla at the Brooklyn Lyceum. With
performances by Elizabeth Baber, Ruth Cunningham, Mellissa Hughes,
Allison Semmes, Anne Lanzilotti, David Skidmore, Chris Coletti and Jody
Redhage.
5.31.07: Charleston, SC. Premiere of KATRINA BALLADS as part of the Piccolo Spoleto Footlight Series, in a production by New Music Collective and Yes is a World.
5.6.07: Chicago, IL. Ted conducts workshops of student compositions at Columbia College as part of a new-music residency by International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE).
5.3.07: New Haven, CT. American premiere of CORDAVI AND FIG at New Music New Haven concert at Sprague Concert Hall. Conducted by Julian Pellicano.
4.23.07: London, UK. Premiere of CORDAVI AND FIG at the Royal Academy of Music, conducted by Simon Baimbridge.
12.06: New York, NY. Red Light New Music presents a concert of contemporary works, including Fabien Levy’s a small treatise of love and geometry, conducted by Ted Hearne and performed by Natacha Diels, Michael Ibrahim, Eileen Mack, John Popham, Amie Weiss.
10.21.06: Liverpool, UK. Ted conducts and plays in Ridge Theatre’s production of The Carbon Copy Building, a comic book opera by Michael Gordon, David Lang, Julia Wolfe.
10.15.06: New York, NY. Ted Hearne’s arrangements of J.G. Thirlwell’s MANOREXIA are presented at THE STONE, with featured performers by David Cossin, Felix Fann and David Hanlon.
10.8.06: New York, NY. Red Light New Music presents a concert at THE STONE, featuring the music of Daniel Vezza, including the premiere of Horizon (2006) conducted by Ted Hearne and featuring Matt Wright, trombone.
8.29.06: Montclair, NJ. Ted works as assistant conductor of David Lang’s opera The Difficulty of Crossing a Field, in a production by Ridge Theatre with music direction by Alan Johnson.
6.06-7.06: Ted travels to South Africa with Yes is a World thanks to a generous grant from the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation. A six-person coalition headed up by conductor Mollie Stone was there studying the ways in which traditional Xhosa and Zulu choral music is being used to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS. 4.30.06: New York, NY. Yes is a World presents Music in the Social Sphere, featuring Samir Zarif’s anti-war jazz suite The Many Wines and Ted Hearne’s Cantata: Songs of the Divided, along with music by Ives, David T. Little, Björk and The Mountain Goats.
4.23.06: New York, NY. Red Light New Music presents a concert including Beat Furrer’s Gaspra, conducted by Ted Hearne.
2.3.06: Charleston, SC. Premiere of “23” by New Music Collective.
12.05: New York, NY. Red Light New Music presents their inaugural concert, featuring Grisey’s masterwork Vortex Temporum, conducted by Ted Hearne with performers Natacha Diels, Eileen Mack, Batya MacAdam-Somer, David Medine and Jody Redhage.
2.14.05: New York, NY. Yes is a World presents A New Wake at The Riverside Church, a benefit fundraiser for the Southeast Asian Tsunami relief efforts of Faithful America. Featured performers include Nellie McKay, Julia Lichten, Sam Oatts, Dinuk Wijeratne, Ben Cassorla Trio, and instrumentalists and singers from Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School.
2.2.05: New York, NY. Premiere of Daniel Vezza’s Pulsations for cello and string orchestra at Manhattan School of Music. Featuring cellist Ben Capps, conducted by Ted Hearne.
11.04: New York, NY. American premiere of Lost Objects, a staged oratorio by Michael Gordon, David Lang and Julia Wolfe, in a Ridge Theatre production directed by François Girard at the BAM Next Wave Festival. Ted worked as assistant conductor and production assistant.
8.19.04: Chicago, IL. Yes is a World presents The Quieting, featuring Britten’s Serenade for Tenor and Horn performed by Isaiah Robinson and Julie Beckel, along with works of Charles Ives Ted Hearne and Zach Abramson. Additional performances by Sam Oatts, Alejandro Acierto and members of the Chicago Youth Symphony.
